Friday Night Rewind, Week 4

By: Jeremy | February 28th, 2009

Well, Gimnasia (LP) continued the good run of form after an opening day loss and beat up on Independiente 2-0. But the big news, at least for any unemployed head coaches with Primera experience is that Central lost 3-1 (including a scorcher by James Rodriguez-watch the highlights) away to Banfield and looked absolutely horrible doing it. I only caught one half, but that had to be their worst performance this year. Alfaro lost his cool and got ejected, which didn’t help matters. Video highlights after the jump.

I’ve got to wonder how many more of these directionless, spiritless games that Gustavo Alfaro can have before el Vasco makes a move and brings in a new coach. I’d guess one more. There was no motivation, no desire.

Alfaro looking dejected.

Gimnasia – Independiente highlights

Banfield – Colon highlights. Worth watching for Banfield’s third goal by Rodriguez, set up by a failed clearance by (insert name of inept Central defender here). Although to his credit, it could have been any of the other Central players to screw up.
