Gearing up for the Championship
By: Jeremy | November 27th, 2008This weekend could see another of the title challengers drop out of the race. Velez and Newell’s are out, being 6 and 7 points adrift with 3 games to go. Lanus are hanging on to fourth place, four points behind Boca Juniors and two behind San Lorenzo and Tigre. Failure to take full points away from Arsenal at home will most likely see their title charge effectively end.
Boca hosts Racing, San Lorenzo travels to Huracan, and Tigre get hapless River Plate at home. Any slip ups by the trailing pack and Boca could lock up the title with a few games to spare.
