What A Friday!

By: Jeremy | March 14th, 2009

Two games and 10, as in nine plus one, goals. In the first game, Gimnasia de Jujuy showed off their brand spankin’ new coach,Héctor Arzubialde, and overwhelmed Pepe Santoro’s Independiente 4 -1 (plus they had one called off). Ouch. I’ve said before that Gimnasia weren’t that bad this season even though results would indicate otherwise, but man they really teed off on el Rojo. Video after the break.

Now that can’t be good for Santoro’s continuation as coach. I haven’t seen any word of him getting sacked yet, but it can’t be far away. Gimnasia probably deserved to win by more.

The second game was even more one sided, with suddenly potent Rosario Central really off their second impressive victory in a row under recently hired coach Mustard Merlo. The 5-0 scoreline was maybe a tad bit flattering, but Arsenal looked overwhelmed much of the time.

The highlights from Gimnasia-Independiente.

All I could find was a bunch of single goal clips, so I was too lazy to paste them all, so enjoy the fifth goal from Central.
